According to legends, the Titicaca Lake is the cradle of the Inca culture. Located at 3,812 meters above sea level, it is the highest navigable lake in the world, and houses a rich flora and fauna that are the reason of the economy of the people leaving in its islands and around it. 

To get there, you should first get to the city of Puno: fly to Juliaca and from there go by car; by train or by road from Cusco or Arequipa; or crossing the lake from Bolivia using any of the different shipping options available.
